29th of October

After we finished up the presentations, we have been working on finding contestants and a place to film. We got a go from the chiefs in the kitchen down in the cantine, and will have an hour to shoot there Monday afternoon.

So far, we have also found three people to take part in the production. Because the idea we presented today seemed a little hard to go through with, we chose to make it a bit easier for ourselves. We discussed the whole family part of it, and concluded that we'll use couples instead. Since the target group will be young Danes from 20-30 years old, it will be easier to identify with the contestants/the jury if they are in a relationship rather than a family with kids, especially since most of them probably don't have a baby yet.

At the same time, we decided that the TV-host doesn't necessarily need to be a chief, but we'll use chiefs to guide the contestants along the way, which gives room for more chiefs in the show, as well as a host who will probably be more interested and eager to learn herself, considering that she doesn't know as much about cooking as a chief would have done.

The rest of the time we have been looking at other pilots and extracts from food programs, finding out what kind of shots we will need and so on. Our thought is to make it kind of a «classic» food program pilot, but at the same time we'll have to present the twist and the «rules» in an easy way for the viewer. Therefore we started writing on a manuscript for the TV-host, as well as collecting the most relevant facts to present in the pilot - which we'll use to make an overview of the food waste situation in Denmark.
